Micromanagement

I have been working at Amazon for more than 3 years. The stock price is really what has kept me here longer than the average 1-2 years most people stay.

Micromanagement is the worst problem at Amazon. Managers are constantly pushing staff to reach unachievable goals. This is causing huge stress and health problems. You can't expect employees to be pushed beyond their capabilities by constantly moving goals once the current ones have been reached. It’s not realistic, but that’s exactly what happens every day.

Most successful companies set targets and stick to them, but not Amazon. They don’t allow employees to catch their breath even if they are performing very well, but they are just waiting to catch them when they fail the first time and then comes the PIP followed by the exit and then the new guy.
