Fired over a joke

I worked very hard for Amazon for nearly five years. I was abruptly fired because I offended a PA with something I did at a stand up activity after lunch one day. It was absolutely ridiculous that this person got away with this, but hr business partners took her side and said that I attacked her, and everyone involved knew I was kidding.

Basically I did a rap, for an activity called "amazons got talent". In my performance I made light of some things that were going on in the warehouse. Mainly "POC's", Point of Contact, or you could say, a wanna be PA. In my performance I said "Look at me, Look at Me!, If I kiss up to a PA i'll be POC!" HR took that as me "attacking associates", ok then I was called "racially insensitive for saying this "I slipped on a banana, my name is <redacted>", but unfortunately I did mock this woman's accent, I was totally kidding, but she didn't take it that way.

So that day, I was given a warning that my performance offended her, I was told to just be mindful of associates, and that we totally liked your performance. It was a talent show, so I didn't know there was a guideline I had to follow.

Anyways a few weeks go by, and I totally could feel that I was being set up to be fired. Her little click of friends plotted the whole thing. She went whining to Ops that I "ruined her reputation". I knew this woman for years, and she knew I was kidding, but she got her way and I got fired.

I was there 5 years, I was ambassador for 2 years, and I was cross trained in 5 departments. I have even thought of  possible suing Amazon for unlawful termination. Some HR business partners said my performance violated Amazons policy on harassment and everyone knew I liked to joke around, it was absolutely ridiculous, I had the nerve to say anything about the blatant favoritism that this company shows towards associates and I paid the price with my job, just speaking out.

The FC I was at was filled with vicious gossip and all the time I felt like I was back in high school. I was even cussed out online by a former friend over some gossip with a PA and her friend that I didn't spread. Of all my jobs that I have had in the past 20 years, this was one of the most childish jobs I ever had. I miss the friends that I made their, but I do not  miss the vicious gossip and negativity of that place.

I really was getting salty near the end when as ambassador seeing my hard working white badges all get fired and canned after peak season, and seeing some of the laziest, useless blue badge associates stay. Never work, milk favoritism, gossip all day, never put on rate, always labor tracked etc.

I think this is good for now, Im debating whether or not I would ever want to return to Amazon after how I was treated. I know that I am on a "do not hire list" for a year, because I have tried to apply to logistics companies to drive Prime Vans and I never would hear back.
