Sellout

Jay Carney used to be the White House press secretary for President Obama, a president who actually believed in elevating the status of workers. But now, after he’s out of the WH, he sold his soul to the Devil, Jeff Bezos.

So now he’s the communications director for a company who’s founder claims he’s proud of the working conditions at his facilities, and disingenuously claims that $15 per hour is a great, living wage. Oh, and that you get great bennies and opportunities for advancement.

For someone who doesn’t do the work that we do in these facilities, or even know how to do it, claiming it’s a great, safe work environment is the lie that betrays their goal: massive profit on the backs of the people who do all the real work. While they sit in their cushy, air conditioned offices breathing the rarified air in the C-suite, everyone else suffers.

They say everyone has a price, and Bezos must have offered a high enough number to get him to abandon his principles after leaving the WH. So while he’s collecting an awful lot of money and lots of stock options for not being able to do any of the real work, just remember that he’s working to stop unionization at Amazon facilities.

We should all let him know how we feel about his poor life choice; we can email him at jay@amazon.com. And spare no words.
