Ultraselfishness

I've been at Amazon for just over 3 years. After moving from group to group trying to find someplace good, I've decided that what I'm looking for doesn't exist within Amazon.

Having lots of opportunities for mobility doesn't solve the very toxic culture. People here spend way too much time trying to find fault in the work of others and then go to management directly to complain. It's all about making yourself look better than someone else so that they'll take the abuse and get fired.

Most senior leaders up to 4 layers below Bezos simply don't care and don't want to hear about the problems. It shows in the culture. Bullying and other bad behavior is supported and even encouraged. It's called being "Amazonian".

Amazon is a very miserable place. It creates the ultimate level of selfishness in everyone.
