Turning a blind eye

Before joining Amazon, you need to check team history as some teams will kill your career. My team is example where leadership and managers are playing with career growth of engineers. No one is checking attrition and measuring managerial performance. Senior leadership is silent and turn a blind eye to teams.

You need to be careful. Amazon is a big company and the money will be very attractive. You need to check job level at which you are joining. You need to ask for team metrics like number of promotions, different levels of engineers in your team and what is realistic growth path. Otherwise, you end up stuck with crap for less than two years with no chance for promotion and probably getting fired if you don't quit first.

People don't leave company, they leave bad managers or management . Check on managers is a must like measure attrition rate, promotion rate, etc.
