Need life outside work

Amazon work hours are insane. My husband's coworkers and bosses send him texts  and emails every night and every weekend asking him to do work from home. Their culture of "if you don't like it then leave" let's them get away with anything. They argue that your boss should be able to reach you at any time day or night for any purpose. The problem with this mentality is that just because everybody at Amazon is doing it doesn't make it right.

That is why our society developed  a minimum hourly wage, OSHA, etc. When this issue came up for Amazon and similar companies in Germany, the government there created a law which prohibits supervisors from contacting employees two hours after business hours end unless it is truly an emergency. I'd prefer to live in a system similar to what our parents had a generation ago, where your employer generally left you alone when you weren't on the clock.
