Escaping accountability

I've noticed a new pattern among Amazon's senior leaders and HR. Whenever they get caught mistreating employees and they should be fired, they always quit before any official paperwork is filed for their situation and definitely before any of this documentation makes its way into their annual review or HR file (or the Amazon no-rehire list). Then they wait for 6 months and call their friends to hire them back into another senior role. It's a sick game of musical chairs because they are allowed to get away with discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and abuse with no accountability whatsoever this way.

I personally know two HR directors who did this as well as two tech directors and one senior principal engineer. I also know another tech director who was allowed to escape accountability for abusing his employee by taking a leave of absence for 3 months and after he returned, no one followed up on the abusive situation which he avoided get written up for by not being around. And they had fired the abused employee in the meantime!
