Remote offices are also broken

The 2 years I spent at Amazon were the worst years of my life. The broken culture permeates across all locations. IT'S NOT JUST SEATTLE. Remote offices are definitely infected by their sickness, so there's no chance of a tight-knit group in a small office breaking this sick mold.

I made the mistake of becoming pregnant when I was there, so I was discriminated against for my pregnancy and also harassed by multiple coworkers. No one in management or HR would help me and they pressured me to quit if I didn't like the discrimination and harassment.

When I left after feeling so alone and helpless to fight my abusers, I though maybe this was just a perverse group of people leading up my local office and that Amazon overall wasn't the real problem. I was completely wrong. Their behavior were exactly symptomatic of Amazon's broken culture.

If I had read this site and other articles over the past year before working there, it could have saved me months of abuse and then therapy to recover.

I wouldn't wish Amazon on my worst enemy. I am so thankful that other people can now understand their abusive culture and then stay away. It's not worth it, not matter how good your job offer is.
