Talent down the drain

Like most people, looking for a job you want one in which you can progress. Amazon promises everything and delivers nothing, they only progress those who are like the ones at the top of the tree already. The talented, competent and ambitious can give their heart and soul for years and will inevitably be forced out of the business. For the incompetent, often bullying and abusive individual, the sky is the limit!

Does Jeff Bezos understand how much Amazon has lost in people skills, never to return again, as the severance package (which is hardly worth having) insists that anyone signing that paperwork can never return, not even to another branch of Amazon, which in many cases is the job they really wanted after getting a foot in the door, but were denied by the idiot managers above them.

Here's how it works - grind employees down and then when they are at their lowest, offer the severance package with such a short time limit for a decision you know they will take it! Do not offer any legal assistance, as a good solicitor will point out the pitfalls. The employee can't afford to have the paperwork scrutinised as they are already up to their neck in debt with unpaid sick leave for anxiety and a string of work related illness.

Amazon will strip any decent person of their health and confidence, leaving them drained and feeling totally useless. Someone should survey the backgrounds and qualifications of those that have walked away, there is a truly amazing picture yet to be revealed.
