Abusive by design

I'm an 8 year Amazon veteran and I do not recommend anyone to interview with Amazon.

The Amazon management process is abusive. I know this because I'm currently a manager and I've seen too much behind the scenes. I hate how our individual contributors (ICs) are treated.

As an Amazon manager, we are forced to ride people and push them to their limits. Once they show any sign of weakness or wear, I've been forced to give good employees bad overall ratings despite a long history of good performance. Everything here is politics. Stack ranking still happens despite public announcements otherwise.

Amazon can keep pretending that this site and all the articles are "isolated incidents" but we all know better. The culture is abusive by design. Once the stock price starts to drop, this broken culture will collapse.
