Too big for britches

As a long-time customer who has spent well over ten thousand dollars on Amazon, I've seen an increasing number of problems occur with Amazon which make me consider stopping my business with them.

1. Their international sellers have grown rapidly. I've personally experienced a number of problems with products from some of them. This includes getting products that are forgeries or knockoffs. I've also gotten products which have been previously opened, mishandled, or who knows why put back for sale.

2. Amazon's packaging of products that are sensitive to rough handling makes no sense. UPS, FedEx, and the US Postal Service toss around these boxes with the products loosely thrown in there with some air balloons usually on top of the product where it does no good. I've made endless suggestions to Amazon customer service about that, but I've never see anything change.

3. Even worse, a heavy item is often placed in the box with something likely to be damaged by bouncing against it and, inevitably, the damage sometimes happens.

4. I've repeatedly challenged Amazon customer service about selling items as new which have obviously been sold and returned before but they deny doing so. However, it's obvious by the packaging that has happened. With this being the case, how can I know why it was returned the first time? Was it defective or used then returned by some unethical customer or something even worse?

5. Last, and of course not least, the horrendous treatment of Amazon workers and Amazon's apparent pure PR response instead of dealing with the real problem with their bad management practices.

As the expression goes, Amazon has simply grown "too big for their britches". Profit isn't everything when it begins to adversely affect the customers and workers. The quality of so many things has worsened, particularly those products from China.

Mr Bezos: it really does help to actually listen to us when we encounter a problem. And the problems are multiplying...
