Uncaring management

I interned with Amazon last summer but I will not be accepting my offer to join them after I graduate this spring.

Why, you might ask? Here was my experience:

Although I learned a lot during my 3 months, I felt like I was treated as an unnecessary accessory to my team. They simply didn't care about my project. My code reviews were ignored for many weeks at a time. My "mentor" didn't give me the time of day because he was so worried about protecting his own job before mid-year review time. I asked for help from the other senior engineers and was given the same attitude.

Amazon Managers: don't ask for an intern if you aren't prepared to offer them any support. Maybe having an intern helps your Amazon career growth, but it really hurts the confidence of a college student like me who wants to learn to be a professional engineer.
