Barbaric Practices

Amazon has barbaric practices for warehouse personnel. My coworkers show up to work, scan their badges, and then realize it does not work because they've been fired. The managers are such cowards that my now-former-coworkers have to be told by a security officer that they no longer work there.

These are good people! They have done their job well. However, Amazon has to continue to bring in fresh blood so that people can't complain about the unreasonably high pace and exhaustion. They definitely fire anyone who is injured and can no longer work as hard as before, even for a short period of time. To justify all these firings, they track minuscule things like who missed clocking in by a few minutes after their break or who is less than 1 minute late back from lunch. Any false metrics are good enough for HR and they lock the person out and hire the next gullible person who thinks they can build a career here.
