Emailed truth

Recently, an email was sent out from Beth Galetti (HR SVP) that was sent out to all L7 and up managers. The main message of this email was to not disclose to employees when they are stack ranked at "LE" or least effective. Apparently, this email was sent because disclosure of LE information is leading to Amazon being sued more often since the LE target is often being mistreated or discriminated against.

Despite their public and internal statements to the contrary, Amazon has never stopped using stack ranking after the Seattle Suicide attempt in 2016, or the NYT article in 2015. If anything, they now are doing more stack ranking and abusing the undisclosed "development list" (or "dev list" for short). Your Manager can put you on this list for no reason, and once you are on there for 6 months, you will be notified and put on a "PIP", which probably means you're going to be fired soon. The Pivot process is also turning into a joke, since it's just a pressure tactic to get you to sign away your rights before getting fired. The appeals are almost never successful since they stack the appeals board with friends of the management chain being challenged.
