Brainwashed

As someone who has worked in some very demanding workplaces that nonetheless managed to treat their employees as human beings, including being on Wall Street where Mr. Bezos also previously worked, I find it terribly sad and alarming that Amazon managers seem to think that the only way for a company to be innovative and profitable is for the company to have the workplace culture that Amazon has developed. That is simply not true. The sooner we all understand that, the better off we will all be.

I suppose it's not surprising that some of those defending Amazon appear to be my fellow current Amazon employees, who seem to have been brainwashed into thinking that this kind of workplace suffering is the best and only way to get results. What's really unfortunate are those who think that anyone who wouldn't want to work under the conditions at Amazon is "lazy". They desperately need to get some perspective. There is a huge difference between working hard and the kind of sickness you see within Amazon.
