False Aura

Totally, there is a false aura at Amazon that you are in the only company in the whole world that is innovative. They want you to believe that only Amazon hires so many smart coworkers. This illusion quickly wears out in most teams within a few weeks after orientation.

Worst of all, if your inept manager puts you on a  PIP, it is because you suck and everyone else around you was perfect. And they just make up the metrics to justify whatever they want to write on the PIP and no one cares to check it. And even if you go for a Pivot with the Career Advisor, they will most likely just tell you to take the severance and leave because it's a no win situation with most Amazon managers after they've already focused to hiring your replacement.
