Pandemic overload

2020 was a year the world slowed down, but Amazon sped up. The conditions and toxic work culture that was in place got even worse. The Pandemic truly surfaced the sociopathic evil that is Amazon. I left a month ago due to feeling electric zaps in my brain from the workload and chest palpitations. This is not normal for a job. I saw people get overworked to the point where most of my team was having mental breakdowns and no one in leadership cared. We were still given workloads not manageable and talked to when we were working “too slow” or making errors. My fear is that this horrible work culture becomes the norm throughout the world. After quitting - I have not been the same person. A part of me died there.

I advise anyone looking for a job here to not do it unless it is to make quick money while finding a better place. Amazon has the characteristics of an abuser and has things in place to psychologically keep you there. Don’t get sucked into it.

They treat all employees from the bottom to the middle like robots who are never good enough. They give stock and relocation packages out because without that people would leave as soon as they see the evil here.

I will never give a dime to Amazon and tell my family not to as well. This place does not care about anyone and will kill even the brightest minds and beautiful souls.
