Lack integrity

I am about to be a former Amazon employee, after just three weeks of employment.

We were told at our training session that we had to wait 30 days to apply for "permanent" employee status, or being a "blue badge." So I dutifully came in when I was supposed to, on time, met my sortation numbers from the first shift I ever did and was an exemplary employee.

Then today two friends came and told me they got their "blue badges" - one of them started the same time I did, and the other started the week after. None of us has been there 30 days yet, and so all of us should have been ineligible. When I went to ask HR about it their attitude was "too bad" and the others got their blue badges "because they asked" even though we were TOLD we could not get them for 30 days.

I have no interest in working for a company that lacks integrity and does not apply their rules the same to everyone. Nor were they interested in correcting the problem if there had been an error of some sort.

I have to say I have been astounded at the negative attitudes I have seen in the other employees and had been told multiple times by others to not work so fast and to just take it easy, since it all pays the same. Well, I am a person who always tries my best, and for me doing my best means working to the best of my ability. Our sort goal is 160 packages per hour, which I have consistently exceeded. One employee told me that he had never ever hit 140 and had no intention of ever doing so.

It is no wonder - even though they claim to hire and develop the best, when they treat their employees unfairly they will never get or keep the best. They sure won't be keeping me!
