Worse than hell

I want to tell you that working @ amazon is worse than being in hell!! Actually, ive come to the decision that the 2 places are one in the same! I've worked all my life, doing every type of job and there is not a place in the world that even comes close to Satans Playground, as us employees call amazon!!

I began working @ Amazon in 2014. Started at a Sort Center. Duties are scan pkgs off the line, and place on the correct pallet, wrapping pallets, using a pallet jack then brought the pallet to the truck. As far as jobs went, this was actually a decent place to work. I was there on Day 1-opening day.

A Fulfillment Center was built behind this sort center. We had the 1st opportunity to apply for full time w benefits @ this center. We were told we would have our choice as to what dept and what job we wanted, also, we were told we could choose our shift time. Myself and about 20 others were hired in, being the 1st employees to officially OPEN this facility. Our promises when we left the sort center were as I stated above, also if we did not like working at the FC, we would be immediately hired back in to the Sort Center.

While working at Sort Center, a mgr handed me a paper which told me when I was working, no information about job I was hired for, etc. Not the promise we were given @ Sort Center. Opened that facility also as I did the SC, we were not told our shifts would be 10 hour days with mandatory overtime, being a 5th day! Most of us that went there to work mainly went for the insurance and being full time. We certainly did get full time, but no one asked for 10-11 hr days, 5 days a week!!! From 1st day of hire, it's been nothing buy a nightmare! Everything you do, you have a quota to meet, and believe this is close to impossible. If your rate isn't as they like, you are written up-usually without your knowledge!!

So many horror stories to tell but I'm sure I'll run out of strength before I tell all!! I was injured @ work, carpal tunnel, because every job is repetition. Standing in one spot for 10 hrs a day, waiting for the robots to bring you the large canvas shelf-like, with individual bins. My job was quality control. Your computer would tell you which bin you are to work on, checking for damages, correct items and any wrong items we would have to remove.

Almost 3 years doing that same job and the walking in that place is horrific!! For the first 3 months I was on the 4th floor every day. This means you are walking 4 flights of stairs, 8 times a day! That was my 1st injury. Went to "Amcare" which is our 1st aid station, told them that my hip and leg were shooting pains all up my back. Was told @ amcare, "You didn't get that injury HERE!!" This was their standard answer anytime you would go for any injury! Why there wasn't anyone who took notice of the amount of ambulances that came to amazon daily and they were there @ least 4 times a DAY!

Sorry to ramble but this is only half the story. My current injury-carpal- was a workmans comp. injury. Went to amcare to explain my injury to them and they insisted I see the Amazon Doctor. I did and of course he said it was not a work injury, which is why I was sent to him. After all, he IS on Amazons payroll!! He told me to go see my primary care doctor, which I did. My primary Dr. just looked at my wrists and hands and said, "This is definitely a work related injury"!! He referred me to a specialist, who also confirmed, Yes, due to your job! The workmans comp ins denied my claim, due to THEIR DR's opinion! I was put on short term disability and of course had to retain a lawyer, because 2 out of 3 Dr's, insist its work related.

Long story, trying to shorten up, My last day of work was early July, my 1st check was at the end of August!! By law, I am entitled to timely payments. That is anything but timely!! I'm missing checks, they say were deposited, but never made it to my account!! The horror continues. Had my left hand surgically fixed, and it is or never will be correct. I am scheduled for right hand surgery next week.

All I can tell you is that amazon is the worst place anyone could work!!! They have screwed me every chance they got, and are still doing it. Emailed Jeff Bezos (as amazon employees call him - BOZO) of course, no reply!! I have never been so wrongly treated in my life, including by my ex-husband!

Amazon will do anything in their power to make your life hell, whether you work there or got injured there. There are plenty more incidents but I think we are off to a rolling start.
