Highly toxic culture

I won’t name the department, but it recently changed to the worse. It wasn't particularly great before: Low pay, impossible to meet metrics to the detriment of the customer, an Orwellian atmosphere. But there used to be freedoms that made it bearable.

Now employees are being micromanaged to the T. Time is money and even going to the bathroom will be penalized. Pleas for basic human decency are dismissed in a rude manner. Complaints to HR are being punished in the most ridiculous way.

The department is being ran like a kid suffering from ADHD. Every endeavor ends up being very rudimentary and unfinished. Scary to think these people actually handle highly sensitive customer data! And despite these issues being easily preventable, instead responsibility is being shifted down to lower levels at their expense.

Don't expect more except the occasional "Thank You" from leadership while they shamelessly pat each other’s backs in public. Every time you think leadership is listening to you, it instantly turns out to be a farce. It’s embarrassing, really. If you value your sanity and time, avoid Amazon like the plague.
