The worst sweatshop

I have worked at my local Amazon FC. Conditions are terrible during work with noise over the legal limit and the safety department routinely blocking efforts to measure them in a workplace. Instead, they measure it at the manager's desk. Equipment is from a junkyard and it runs erratically. There was 1 accident caused the poor equipment by guy getting caught in the conveyor roller band. They hushed it up and later said it happened due to an improper "fixing" by the worker.

Computer equipment is outdated. The Linux system is a RedHat version 5 with Firefox so old I have not seen it anywhere else. Safety is implemented by setting up separate systems for an internal use. Hardware relies on old Dell units I have not seen in 10 years.

Timesheets are on a monthly schedule with 10 hr shifts. Free days off are routinely ignored if there is a need to do work. It is illegal because the time off was allocated for overtime work done on company's request. After protests, company lost face and apologized for this mistreatment publicly.

Time to learn is ignored and routine training time is ignored by managers due to the volume of work and lack of people. Attrition is at the 98% level but the company routinely hides the fact. Instead, it invites new hires to an open tour. Due to the high attrition rate, the company tries to build workforce from families of existing employees. It is like a 19th century capitalism in the modern day. Be dumb, stay dumb and work hard until you die on the job. Is this sweatshop supposed to be the high tech workplace of the future?
