Broken heart and back

I worked in the warehouse for year. You are nothing more than a cog in a very large machine. Did you know that Amazon actually calculates the speed you walk at in the warehouse? You live and die by your numbers regardless of the function. Few last over a year, and those that do last have found a way to cheat the system, because that's what Amazon rewards. If you are good at one function and making your numbers, they'll put in another function your not as good at and fire you. They promote the damaging of product in exchange for a good stowing rate. I loved my job, even if it was extremely hard for a 61 year old do perform. I loved my coworkers. But I wan't part of the "click" and I refused to cheat just to get my numbers up. I was what I thought was a valued commodity....a honest employee. It broke my heart when I was fired because I was literally working my ass off. I'd work until I made myself physically sick and had to go throw up. Course, that was Time off Task and I heart about that too. They hire so often because they go through people like a slaughter house. They let people go that want to work there. But if you can work the system, they love you. It makes them look good because they too work the system, even in management. It's a giant meat grinder. They break all kinds of little laws, but nothing major. HR is no help at all, because they too have numbers to make and your ass is disposable. It's not worth it folks.....
