Only thing left would be murder

Some people say that those of us who complain about being mistreated just don't want to work hard at Amazon and have our performance be judged against others. Nothing could be further from the truth. True performance-measured darwinism would be fine, as long as it was enforced ethically by HR. 

Instead, nearly everyone that succeeds at Amazon cheats their way to success by backstabbing others and falsifying performance metrics and performance feedback. The only thing left which is not yet done would be for people to start physically attacking each other and murdering each other to get ahead. If you try to fight the system, HR will do everything possible to protect the guilty because that's the kind of horrible people they are. It's never actually about job performance, it's about stealing credit for the work of others and getting them fired so that your career advances instead of theirs. Disgusting.
