Too Much Change

At Amazon, procedures change often. Organizations change often. (Most people don't have the same supervisor for more than 6-12 months). During these changes, there is quite a bit of miscommunication from leadership, as well as Human Resources. They sometimes announce the changes, but often don't. As a result, preferred metrics are challenging to maintain. Personal Time Off (PTO) is offered, but it can affect your metrics if you take too much. It's hard to know how to do your job well when you don't know how you will be measured at review time or even who will be doing the measuring. Change for the sake of change is a very bad thing, but seems to be the MO for most Amazon VPs. I worry that these people are more focused on building empires than about employees or even customers.
