Kiss the Ring

Great to see that a company promotes on talent where new people are looked to be 50% or better than current employees. This makes sure that the best people are hired according to the Amazon Leadership principles.

Unfortunately this is not the case most times for promotions. I have seen many people promoted over the past 3 years, based on likability, not talent.

Promote on failure is rife in Amazon, but as long you can find people to like you from higher levels you will be fine.
