Walter Bullock

Walter Bullock (b. Shelburn, Indiana, May 6, 1907 – d. Los Angeles, August 19, 1953) – Composer, lyricist, and screenwriter. After starting his career working for WFBM radio in Indianapolis, Bullock went to Hollywood to work with songwriter Ben Bernie. As a lyricist, he co-wrote many well-known songs for movies that starred Shirley Temple. In addition, he wrote the lyrics for the following Academy Award nominated songs: “When Did You Leave Heaven?” (music by George Whiting) from Sing Baby Sing (1940) and “Who Am I” (music by Jules Styne) from Hit Parade (1941). Working nearly his whole career with Fox, he wrote screenplays for Springtime in the Rockies, The Gang’s All Here, and The Farmer Takes a Wife.
