Danny Gaither

Danny Gaither (b. Alexandria, August 20, 1938 – d. April 6, 2001) – Singer. The younger brother of Gospel giant Bill Gaither, Danny Gaither sang tenor in the world famous Bill Gaither Trio from its beginnings in the 1950s until 1977, when he left to pursue a solo career. After producing several successful solo albums, Danny Gaither stopped touring in the early 1990s because of extreme problems with his vocal cords. After losing a battle to lymphoma, Danny was buried in Alexandria’s Parkview Cemetery. A member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame as part of the Gaither Trio, Danny Gaither won many Grammy’s and Dove Awards.
