Danny Dollar

Danny Dollar (b. Daniel Dowler in Indianapolis, June 1, 1943 - d. Nashville, Indiana, July 14, 2006) -- Singer, songwriter, and guitarist. As a teenager in Indianapolis, Danny Dollar imitated the sound and physical gyrations of Elvis and, in doing so, went over well with young female audience members. In 1967, he recorded "Hello Blues" and "Telling You Like It Is" with Solid Soul in Los Angeles. "Hello Blues" is a soulful bluesy tune with a horn section and prominent harmonica. A member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, Danny toured nationally as an Elvis impersonator and performed with Bo Diddley and Greg Allman. His son Darren Dowler has had a successful career as a musical entertainer.
