Jermaine Jackson

Jermaine Jackson (b. Gary, December 11, 1954 - ) – Singer, guitarist, and bassist. The third oldest brother in the Jackson family, Jermaine was the original lead singer of the Jackson 5 and later sang secondary lead parts. He graduated from Birmingham High School in Los Angeles in 1973, after Motown had moved out West. In 1976, Jermaine left the group to focus on his solo career with Motown. Of his twelve studio albums, three have broken into the top ten on the R & B charts. The most successful was Let’s Get Serious, which went to #1 on the R & B charts in 1980; its title track went to #1 on the R & B singles charts as well. His only other #1 R & B single was “Don’t Take it Personal” from 1989. Although he hasn’t recorded an album since 1991, seventeen of his songs from 1972 to 1992 made it to the top 100 in pop, and twenty-seven have broken into the R & B 100 list. A converted Muslim since the 1980s, Jermaine currently lives in LA with his wife, Halina Rashid. After appearing on Celebrity Big Brother UK in 2007, he has developed a significant fan base in Great Britain and since then has made numerous television appearances there. After a 20 plus hiatus from the recording business, he released an album I Wish You Love (2012) with French opera singer David Serero.
