Tad Robinson

Tad Robinson (b. New York, June 24, 1956 -- ) -- singer, songwriter, and harmonica player. Robinson organized his first group, Hesitation Blues Band, in Bloomington, where he had moved to in 1976 to attend Indiana University. After relocating to Chicago in 1982, he led a new band that had a regular gig at Rosa’s for three years and also played at Buddy Guy’s Legends, The Wise Fools Pub, B.L.U.E.S. and the Chicago Blues Festival. Various manifestations of that group played in the Chicago area until 1998, when Robinson returned to Indiana. Known for his gritty soul-blues vocals, Robinson (a Greencastle resident) performs prolifically as a solo artist, making regular appearances at the Blues at the Crossroads and the Indy Jazz Fest. His schedule also includes festivals in Europe and regular appearances at Indy’s Daddy Jack’s and the Slippery Noodle. After recording two albums with Delmark, he is now with Severn, which published his New Point of View (2007), Back in Style (2010), and Day Into Night (2015). In addition, he has enjoyed considerable success singing his own songs, which have appeared in two feature films—Under Siege and A Perfect Murder. Over the years, he has received eight nominations in various categories from the Blues Music Awards (formerly the W.C. Handy awards).
