Gavin Mikhail

Gavin Mikhail (b. West Lafayette, March 26, 1975 - ) -- Singer, songwriter, and pianist. A 1991 graduate of West Lafayette High School, Gavin Mikhail studied classical piano and pipe organ, starting at age seven. By age ten, he was playing for church services. After finishing a degree in finance from Purdue in 1995, he moved to Nashville. In his first few years in the "Music City," he worked for record companies and was on the A & R staff at Giant Records, where he worked with Blake Shelton and Clay Walker. Since 2002, he has focused on songwriting and has released five albums and has recorded at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios. Recognized in Billboard magazine as an "Internet Sensation," Mikhail has posted many videos of himself performing cover songs at the piano, the main instrument in his original songs as well. In fact, his version of "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie has received nearly two million views on YouTube.
