Lisa Germano

Lisa Germano (b. Mishawaka, June 27, 1958 - ) – Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. One of six children from an Italian-Catholic family in Mishawaka, Germano learned to play instruments at an early age and was encouraged by musical parents. As a guest artist/session player, she is best known for her violin work, especially for her debut performance on Mellencamp’s Lonesome Jubilee album and tour (1987). Since then, she has contributed to five more Mellencamp albums, the most recent being On the Rural Route 7609 (2010). She has also played on albums of Bob Dylan, David Bowie, the Indigo Girls, and Jewell. As a solo artist, she has released thirteen albums, the most acclaimed being Geek the Girl (1994). Categorized as dream pop and alternative rock, her music includes hushed vocals and confessional lyrics.
