Connie Smith

Connie Smith (b. Constance June Meador in Elkhart, August 14, 1941 - ) – Singer. One of fourteen children in a poor, peripatetic family, Connie Smith grew up in West Virginia and Ohio. Smith’s first single, “Once a Day” (1964), reached #1 on the Country charts and stayed there for eight weeks. She continued to produce hits through the 1960s and 1970s and focused on her family and religious life in the 1980s. Since then, she has revitalized her career.
