Gloria Gaither

Gloria Gaither (b. Battle Creek, Michigan, March 4, 1942 - ) – While teaching French at Alexandria High School in 1961, Gloria Sickal met Gospel legend Bill Gaither, whom she married a year later. Shortly thereafter, she joined the famous Bill Gaither Trio. Over the years, she has been very successful as a songwriter, sometimes in collaboration with her husband. From 1984 to 1992, she won four Dove Awards including two for song of the year and one for songwriter of the year. In addition, she and her husband have won numerous accolades for their “Homecoming” albums, including two Grammy Awards and one Dove Award. The Gaithers still live in Alexandria.
