Peggy Sue Webb

Peggy Sue Webb (b. Butcher Hollar, Kentucky, March 24, 1947 - ) – Singer and songwriter. The sister of Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle, Peggy Sue Webb (later billed as “Peggy Sue”) moved with her family from mining country in Kentucky to Wabash, Indiana, at age twelve. After graduating from high school in Wabash, she toured as a singer with her sister Loretta Lynn. Around that time, Peggy Sue helped her sister write one of her best-known songs, “Don’t Come Home a-Drinkin’ (with Lovin’ on Your Mind),” which went to #1 on the Country charts in 1967. In 1969 and 1970, Peggy Sue released two albums with Decca Records, the first of which included “I’m Dynamite” (her highest charting single at #28). Through 1980, she recorded a total of five albums (two with her husband Sonny Wright) and put nineteen songs into the top 100. Currently living in Hendersonville, Kentucky, Peggy Sue sings back-up vocals for her sister Crystal Gayle and also makes some of her stage costumes.
