Eric Reed

Texas Festival Brass Quintet, 2018

Eric Reed – (b. Evansville - ) – Hornist. Born and raised in Evansville, Eric Reed earned degrees from Rice University and Juilliard. Beginning in 2006, Reed freelanced in New York, playing with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, New York Symphonic Ensemble, Long Island Philharmonic, Westminster Opera, and Broadway productions of Wicked, Young Frankenstein, South Pacific, Shrek, and Les Miserables. He is also a member of the Harrisburg Symphony and the Cleveland-based Burning River Brass. In 2009, he joined Spectrum Brass Quintet, which released a CD entitled Rhapsody: the Music of George Gershwin on Brassjar Music. From 2010 to 2013, he was the horn player in Canadian Brass (see below). Currently, he is in the American Brass Quintet (see below), which is in residency at Juilliard, where he works with chamber music ensembles.
