Brett Anderson

Brett Anderson (b. Bloomington, May 30, 1979 - ) – Singer. A native of Bloomington, Anderson moved to Palo Alto, California, in the seventh grade and the following year became the lead singer of the Donnas (originally called Ragady Anne), an all-girl punk rock band that practiced all through middle and high school in the garage of band member Torry Castellano. Brett's band name is Donna A. Sometimes using the names Screen and The Electrocutes, the original four members of the Donnas have released seven studio albums, two of them with Atlantic Records. On the strength of the single “Take it Off” from their Atlantic Records’ debut Spend the Night (2002), the Donnas appeared on Saturday Night Live, the Tonight Show, and the Late Show with David Letterman. Also, “Take it Off” is included in the Dodgeball soundtrack and Guitar Hero II (Playstation). Several other songs by the Donnas appear in popular video games. Furthermore, the band performed in the movies Drive Me Crazy and Jawbreaker and the series Charmed. Highlights of their concert career include the main stage of Lollapalooza in 2003 and the Australian Big Day Out music festival in February 2005. For several years, the group has been relatively inactive, as its last tour was 2012 and the last complete album came out in 2007.
