Kevin Wall

Kevin Wall (b. Fort Wayne, March 5, 1952 - ) – Producer, entrepreneur, and event organizer. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Kevin Wall has either produced or distributed over 300 concerts, many given for special causes. Growing up in a family of fourteen children, Kevin and his siblings worked at their family’s skating rink called the Roller Dome. While working as a DJ at the skating rink, Wall first became interested in music programming and utilizing music as a tool to influence people within a social event. By helping his father lay the flooring for the Roller Dome’s 20,000 square foot rink, he prepared himself for a job out of Ann Arbor that involved building portable stages and then promoting and running concerts at college campuses all over the Midwest. His expertise in all aspects of production—including staging and lighting—led him to contracts working on arena and large stadium tours by groups like the Who, Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin. In 1984, Wall founded a Los Angeles-based company called Box-top Entertainment, which produced and distributed live music. Ten years later, he developed Box-top Media Interactive, which in 1997 merged with iXL, a media and internet consulting firm based in Atlanta. Among the most historically significant events that Wall produced or distributed are Live-Aid, the concerts to free Nelson Mandella, the Roger Waters concert at the Berlin Wall, Live 8, the kick-off concert for the FIFA World Cup (South Africa, 2010), and Live Earth: Concerts for a Climate in Crisis (along with Al Gore). Awards for his work include an Emmy for Live 8, a series of benefit concerts in the G-8 states and South Africa. Wall’s monster concerts have engaged some of the largest grossing artists in the market, among them Bob Dylan, Elton John, Prince, Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Madonna, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, the Police, Blacked-Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, and Shakira.
