Michael Cleveland

Michael Cleveland (b. Henryville, September 18, 1980 - ) -- Fiddle Player and mandolin player. Blind fiddler player Michael Cleveland learned the violin at age four under the Suzuki method. By his early teens he had performed at the Grand Ole Opry and on A Prairie Home Companion. He has released four solo albums, two on Rounder, and he has cut three with his group Flamekeeper, a five-piece bluegrass band. In 2019, his new album Tall Fiddler was released; it included Flamekeeper, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Tommy Emmanuel, Bela Fleck, Tim O’Brien, Dan Tyminski, Del McCoury, and The Travelin’ McCourys. He is an eleven-time winner of "Fiddle Player of the Year" with the International Bluegrass Association. Considered the most awarded of all bluegrass fiddlers, Cleveland received a Grammy nomination of "Best Bluegrass Album" in 2018. Not far from his home town of Henryville, Charlestown is Cleveland's home base.
