Rebbie Jackson

Maureen “Rebbie” Reillette Jackson (b. Gary, May 29, 1950 -- ) – Singer and songwriter. The oldest sibling of Gary’s famous Jackson family, Rebbie Jackson (legally Rebbie Jackson Brown) grew up in Gary and later became part of the family’s Las Vegas act and TV variety show. After singing back-up to such artists as Lou Rawls and Chaka Khan, Rebbie embarked on a solo career and recorded three albums between 1984 and 1988. Her first album Centipede went gold, and its title track (with brother Michael singing background vocals) became her biggest hit, reaching #4 on the Billboard R & B chart and #24 on the Billboard Hot 100. Even though her first three albums reached the top sixty on the R & B charts, her music had little success on the pop charts. After recording her last album in 1998 entitled Yours Faithfully, she officially retired from the music business, although she reappeared in 2001 for a six-month booking in Las Vegas.
