John Swihart

John Swihart -- Film and TV composer. The son of a faculty member at Indiana University, John Swihart grew up in Bloomington. From there, he attended Berklee College of Music. After moving to Los Angeles, Swihart has developed a sizable resume of credits composing for film and television. Since 2004, he has composed over twenty film scores, the most critically acclaimed being for Napoleon Dynamite. His work on Napoleon Dynamite earned him a Satellite Award in 2004 and a Grammy nomination in 2006. Swihart's scores encompass a wide range of films from Mall Cop (2009) and Youth in Revolt (2009) to the Other Woman (2009). His work for television is also extensive, including scores for How I Met Your Mother and Hope & Faith.
