LaToya Jackson

LaToya Jackson (b. Gary, May 29, 1956 - ) – Singer, songwriter, dancer, author, and actress. The very middle of the Jackson’s nine children, LaToya was not as involved with performing as most of her siblings were while growing up; however, father Joseph Jackson enlisted her in a family performing group in 1974, and, by the late 1970s, she and sisters Janet and Rebbie had formed an trio, which had a short life. In 1980, she released her first of ten studio albums, and her comeback LP Startin’ Over is due out in 2008, the next most recent full-album release being Stop in the Name of Love (1995). Only charting minor hits—mainly in the 1980s—LaToya’s singing career is far less impressive than that of Michael and Janet. Nonetheless, the singles “Just Wanna Dance” and “Free the World” both charted in 2004, thus resurrecting her career. Her starring role on CBS’s reality show Armed and Dangerous helped bring her back into the public eye in 2007—not to mention revealing her fear of cats! In recent years, she has continued to appear on reality TV and has worked on various music projects, including the release of single "Tehran" (2016), an Iranian-American pop singer.
