Michael Jackson (b. Gary, August 29, 1958 - d. Los Angeles, June 25, 2009) – Singer, songwriter, and choreographer. Following childhood fame—mainly as a member of the Jackson 5—Michael reached even greater heights as a solo artist. His high-energy (and often high-pitched) vocals, modern dance moves, and groundbreaking video productions made MJ the “King of Pop” in the 1980s. In particular, Thriller (1982) became the top selling album of all-time. As a solo artist, he has won 15 Grammy Awards and has recorded 13 #1 singles. His worldwide record sales exceed 350 million, making him the third top selling artsts of all-time behind the Beatles and Elvis Presley. His last full studio album was Invincible in 2001, and, he had a tour scheduled "This is It" to begin in July 2009, only a few weeks after this death.
