Jimmy Ganzberg

Jimmy Ganzberg – Pianist and vocalist. A graduate of Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis, Jimmy Ganzberg studied music at Indiana University and became well known in the Indy area for his Jerry Lee Lewis style of piano playing and showmanship. Sometimes in collaboration with a local band called the Crowns and saxophonist Jimmy Coe, Ganzberg made a handful of 45s that were popular regionally in the mid to late 1950s. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, he played locally with the Orly Nutson Trio and Tuttle & Shells, both groups featuring saxophonist Glen Douglass. Currently a resident of Alabama – where he is a member of the state’s Rockabilly Hall of Fame – Ganzberg plays keyboards in a touring Alabama Blues Brothers Band, which formed in 1998.
