Joyce DeWitt

Joyce DeWitt (b. Wheeling, West Virginia, April 23, 1959 - ) – Actress, director, singer, and dancer. West Virginia born Joyce DeWitt was raised in Speedway and earned a bachelor’s degree at Ball State University. Next, she attended graduate school at UCLA and eventually broke into show business. At UCLA, she was awarded a scholarship in honor of Clifton Webb, a Hoosier actor/singer. Although best known for playing Janet during the complete run of Three’s Company on ABC (1977-84), Joyce DeWitt has enjoyed a long, successful career in theatre. In 1999 and 2000, she appeared in the Canadian premieres of The Last Night in Ballyhoo and Dinner with Friends. In 1996, she was part of the American cast recording of Olympus on My Mind. Most recently - in the spring of 2008 – she sang as part of a benefit program entitled Bingo Broadway, which included bingo games called by Broadway stars. Musical productions that she has appeared in include Lil’ Abner, Gypsy, The Crucible, The Mikado, Anything Goes, and Dracula: An Original Rock Musical.
