Terry Eldredge

Terry Eldredge – (b. Terre Haute, April 18, 1963 -- ) – Singer, songwriter, Guitarist, and bassist. Raised in West Terre Haute, Terry Eldridge studied with local bluegrass mentor Louie Popejoy. He and brothers Grady and Payton formed the Bluegrass Posse, which played mainly around the Wabash Valley. During his years at West Vigo High School – where he was a member of the Viketones (a well-known show choir in the area) – he began playing on the road, including supporting roles at the Grand Ole Opry. After high school, Eldredge moved to Nashville and over the years played with Lonzo and Oscar (early to mid 1980s, on bass) Osborne Brothers (on bass, starting in 1988, and switching to guitar), Larry Cordle and Lonesome Standard Time (starting in the late 1990s, on bass), Wilma Lee Cooper, Dolly Parton, and the Sidemen (frontman). His experience as lead singer with the Sidemen – a well-known bluegrass band that has a regular Tuesday night gig at the legendary Station Inn -- prepared him well to be the lead singer and a founding member of the Grascals, a Grammy-award winning bluegrass band that formed in 2004. In addition to his numerous recordings credits with the aforementioned groups plus Benny Martin, Josh Graves, Chubby Wise, and Dierks Bentley, Eldredge recorded two solo albums on Pinecastle Records. While playing with Larry Corcle and Lonesome Standard Time, he was a nominee for Bass Player of the Year by International Bluegrass Music Association in 2003. After leading the Grascals through many years of success and accolades, Eldridge left the group in February 2019.
