Louis Weslyn

Louis Weslyn (also known as Louis Weslyn Jones, b. October 12, 1885, Indianapolis -- d. New York, 1937) -- Songwriter. Weslyn was an Indiana native who became associated with Vaudeville circuit and wrote several songs that published and recorded mainly in the 1910s and 1920s. His songs appeared on major labels, such as Columbia, Brunswick, and Okeh. Of particular note, “Send My Away with a Smile” was a popular song during the WW I era, and his “The Boy Who Stuttered and the Girl Who Lisped” became a well-known novelty song. Lastly, Weslyn’s “Temptation Rag” was recorded by many artists, including the Benny Goodman Sextet.
