Matthew Vaughn

Matthew Vaughn (b. Dallas, Texas ) – Trombonist. Although born in Dallas, trombonist Matthew Vaughn grew up in Richmond, Indiana. After earning a bachelor’s in Music and a Performance Certificate at Indiana University, he pursued graduate work in conducting at I.U. and George Mason University. After playing with the U.S. Air Force Concert Band from 1993 to 1997, he played for two years with the San Antonio Symphony. Since 1999, Vaughn has held the position of Associate-Principal Trombone with the Philadelphia Orchestra. He also teaches trombone at Temple University and the Curtis Music Institute.
