Jimmy McDaniels

Jimmy McDaniels (b. Vinesville, Alabama, January 23, 1929 - d. Greenwich, Connecticut, April 25, 2009) – Composer, saxophonist, pianist and vocalist. After growing up in Fairfield, Alabama, McDaniels eventually became a well-known performer in Indianapolis and Las Vegas. Known for his classy vocals, he released the well-received Presenting Jimmy McDaniels on his own JMCA label in 2003. The aforementioned album includes all original tunes, which were written by McDaniels and arranged by Jimmy Coe. In addition, Jimmy Coe’s band backs McDaniels's vocals on the albums. Lastly, McDaniels has also performed with Cab Calloway, June Christy, Nat "King" Cole, Rosemary Clooney, Mel Torme, Joe Williams, Lionel Hampton, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Nellie Letcher.
