Axl Rose (Guns N' Roses)

Axl Rose (b. William Rose and later adopted as William Bailey, Lafayette, February 6, 1962 - ) – Singer and songwriter. After leaving Lafayette in his late teen years, Rose moved to Los Angeles and made his mark on the rock world as the dynamic front man for Guns N’ Roses, which formed in 1985. The band's six studio albums have all made it to #4 or higher on the Billboard 200 chart. Rose and the band received an invitation to join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, although Axl refused to be associated with the Hall. In 2016, Rose assembled former members of Gun N' Roses for a Not in This Lifetime tour, which became the third highest grossing tour of all time. Also in 2016, he started singing with AC/DC. As a side note, Rose and band mate Izzy Stradlin met in a driver’s education class at Jefferson High School in Lafayette.
